About this talk. Reports on a study of student motivations for pursuing Celtic studies outside the Celtic-speaking world, conducted with Bonn and Uppsala. Draws on survey and focus-group data from Poznań to examine why students choose Irish and Welsh, the challenges of teaching them with materials designed for other contexts, and the scepticism students meet from family and friends.
